General Information

​

I was born in Texas, USA, but have lived most of my life in Mexico.  I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Universidad Panamericana, and obtained subsequently a Postgraduate Degree in Commercial and Company Law in the same institution.  Furthermore, I attended and concluded my Master’s Degree in Law at New York University.

Experience & Practice Area

​

I worked for 15 years at Baker & McKenzie in the Transactional and Real Estate practice groups, with a specialization in advising and assisting clients in the procedures related to the due diligence, acquisition, lease, development and sale of real estate properties in Mexico.  I was also part of the team leading the tourism sector within the law firm and actively participated in the Tourism committee for American Chamber in Guadalajara.

Representative Matters

​

-Assisted numerous clients in the due diligence and acquisition of luxury beachfront properties in several locations within Mexico, including preparation of the corresponding title/due diligence reports, and the incorporation of the corresponding Restricted Zone Trusts.

​

- Assisted a client in the required legal structure and contracts required for the due diligence, acquisition, creation, development and subsequent sale of a new development in the coast of Nayarit

 

- Assisted in the establishment of a new design center for a private company in the Municipality of Zapopan, Jalisco.

​

- Assessment and filing of TimeShare Agreement before PROFECO Authorities.

​

- Assessment and analysis of Hotel Operating Agreements.

​

- Preparation of legal structures for real estate joint ventures, transactions, developments and real estate trusts.

English, Spanish, French.

I am an official Expert translator Spanish/English and viceversa authorized by the Supreme Court of Justice for the State of Jalisco.
